... great fan of O.C.S and thought Moseley Shoals was a cracker album and comparing it to One From the Modern theres no comparison. The new album lacks the usual rocking album O.C.S are renowned for. At the moment theyre workin on their new album and hope they bring out an album witha bit more punch and more catchy songs such as 100 Mile High City and the RiverBoat Song to earn O.C.S the respect that they deinitely deserve. ...more

Premium Review Ocean Colour Scene in general: These Deserve More Success (100 words)

Ocean Colour Scene haven’t been noticed as well as they should be. They have produced some classic songs such as Policemen and Pirates and the very famous Riverboat song. Unfortunately Ocean Colour Scene have been over powered by this awful rush for R+B and dance music. But bands such as Stereophonics Coldplay and these produce the real music with real instruments unlike all the computerised rubbish that we hear in clubs today. It’s a shame to let their talent go to waste but I’m sure they’ll be noticed after this short dance craze is over. ...  Read the complete review

One From The Modern is the latest OCS album, and while good, doesn’t quite match up to the last two. While July probably beats it’s equivalents in the previous two albums (The Riverboat Song and Hundred Mile High City) many of the songs are not up to scratch. The Waves, and also Families, are nothing special, and the majority of the other songs wither around on the borderline of average. However, I Won’t Get Grazed is a fantastic finish to the album, and Profit In Peace, despite media criticism, is an equally good opener. Decent, but not quite as good as OCS’s last two albums. ...  Read the complete review
