Papa Roach. The latest nu-metal band to grace these shores. They are as emotional as KoRn (well KoRn's first album anyway) and they are as heavy as some of the classics.....Sabbath....the likes. They don't claim, or try to be something they aren't. They do however, do whatever they do VERY well. Where many bands think that because they play nu-metal, they are instantly gods, Papa Roach don't. They have worked hard for where they are, and they aren't overly confident in themselves which is unusual. They play emotional songs, filled with lyrics that can reach out to the teenage generation. Songs like 'Broken Home', 'Last Resort' and 'Binge' show that. But they are most definitely not a band that would appeal to anyone over 30. That may sound a bit of an old age to be listening to this sort of music, but this music is what a lot of people are dedicated to. when it is not fashionable anymore, Papa Roach and the metal fans will all still be here. They will keep the flame alive for future generations to take over. And even when they aren't the best nu-metal abnd anymore, they will (hopefully) still try, and rock on, to huge audiences of dedicated fans, who have stuck to it all the way, and never given up in what they believe in.

Of course, having 2 smash hit songs hasn't harmed the Californian foursome so far. Both 'Last Resort' (all about suicide) and 'Between Angels And Insects' (i haven't the slightest clue about this one) have taken the band further and further up towards the super stardom which will see them well stocked when the fad of nu-metal fades away from the mainstream. And their new(ish) album 'Infest' has been doing very well (mainly because of the hit singles), and is still selling in the thousands. And of course the new version of it with 'Legacy', 'Dead Cell' and the video for 'LAst Resort', will ensure that the fans flood out to buy it AGAIN,
just for the extra tracks. The album, really shows how far the band have progressed since 'Potatos 4 Xmas', which did them well enough when the yused to tour California with buddys Alien Ant Farm. Of course it is very rare now, and i am yet to find a copy, but it won't stop me from trying.

So basically, Papa Roach are a great band that will keep rocking through til old age, and never give up their roots. ( i know i have previously said Papa Roach are crap, but as with Linkin Park, after a long recession i have listened to their album again, and it seems fresh and new to me.)
