Paul Simon has had a long and distinguished musical career, reaching all the way back to 1955. For people who were introduced to Paul Simon through his phenomenally successful "Graceland" album who might not have heard his earlier work, I'm going to attempt a sort of potted history of his music here. Bought for me as a birthday present a few years ago this album is without doubt the best one in my collection.When I first recieved it the only track that I really knew was"You Can Call Me Al",Now a few years on admittedly,I know every track word for word.So I can only attribute this to the fact that it really is a masterpiece in music circles.No other album has stayed on top of my pile for so long or been played as many times.The track Graceland is truly a masterpiece with even the Everly Brothers making a contribution.If by chance I was sent to a desert island then this would be the one album I would take. ...
