Phil Collins must be one of the most talented and respected people in the music business. I hadn't heard much of his music before except some of the material he recorded when with Genesis. I didn't expect what I got from this album. Its got a few good songs on it but the problem is that they do sound a bit similar. I don't really find this too much of a bothe rbut some people would. Theres a good deal of listening in the cd. Can't Turn Back the Years and Theres a place for Us are my two favourites but only a couple of the 11 tracks aren't worth listening to. The lyrics are great. All the songs deal wiht either a story or a principle so even if ... Read the complete review

If the sheep that you count to get to sleep have a natural rival in their sole purpose to deliver you to slumberland then Phil Collins is he. It is rare that a man can sound as mediocre as he looks but Phil Collins has the ability to surprise you. Here we have a man who is a talented drummer but is dedicated to using tinny drum machines in his songs that sound even more inferior than the ones you buy from Argos for £14.99. A man who is a talented pianist but decides instead to opt for cheesy 80’s keyboards rhythms which again you’d be challenged not to surpass if you were a student at the “press the key when the light flashes” school of music. He ... Read the complete review

This is one of my favourite albums of all. I will be rating it highly indeed in this review! I have listened to it many times over and if anything I like it even more. I read in Hudson's (great) review that he thought the songs sounded alike. I respect his opinion but I disagree. Maybe I used to think that but I have listened to it enough to appreciate all the songs in their own way. One of my favourites is We Fly Too Close. In my opinion this song should be acknowledged as a classic. It begins gently and gathers pace and power before easing off towards the finish - nothing new there I suppose. It's just that it carries so much emotion along the way. ... Read the complete review

I honestly have to say that I believe Phil Collins is one of those people that, deep down, everybody likes. Or at least, they like at least one of his many songs. Phil has been going for eons and his musical ability is without question. Let us not forget who was chosen as the drummer for the biggest concert on Planet Earth back in 1985, Live Aid. His songs, are a mixture of poppy, jingly jangly melodies to deeper, slower and more profound anthems. Perhaps his most well-known, Another Day in Paradise, which illustrates the plight of homelessness is one of his finest pieces or works. Other classics include One More Night and True Colours. His songs ... Read the complete review

I bought Phil Collins' hits a year ago. In most shops it was £15.00, I managed to get it from Tesco's for only £12.00. It was well worth the money I spent on it. I wasn't that big a Phil Collins fan, I only really bought it for a couple of songs, but by time I had finished listening to this CD I was hooked, it's now one of my favourites. Most of the songs on this CD you will have heard of before, eg. In The Air Tonight, Another Day in Paradise and Easy Lover. My favourite has got to be Against all Odds, recently recorded by Westlife and Mariah Carey. It is a very easy listening CD and I would recommend it to anyone, even if ... Read the complete review
