Think back to yourself. Think back to the last album you bought. Was it Foo Fighter's One By One (op coming soon), Feeder's Comfort In Sound, maybe even Radiohead's Kid A or in the worst cases Craig David's Slicker Than Average (or maybe I should be saying slicka). Did that album really kick ass. And let me get this straight- by kick ass, I son't mean was it enjoyable, epic or experimental- I mean whether it really hit you hard and left a big mark on your musical head. Progressive stoner rock. Not a genre that often gets mentioned, but when the band we're talking about is Queens of the Stone Age, then mention it we must. Queens of the Stone Age are one of those unclassifiable bands, that transcend boundaries and come up with something totally undefinable. This album shows how talented and diverse the various members are, from grungy-stoner grinds to light, almost Doors-like mellow moments. Each man has his own singing style, Homme tending towards ... Read the complete review

This is the magnificant second album from the magnificant queens of the stoneage. This band is most commonly classified as the hellraising stoner band and they certaintly are that. THIS BAND FORMED IN 1997 IN CALIFORNIA AND THIS IS THEIR FIRST MAJOR LABEL RELEASE, AND IT COULD ONLY BE KNOWN AS MAGNIFICANT. Josh Homme is their guitarist and vocals. Nick Olviera is their bassist. Both these members are from another stoner band called Kyuss which i also thoroughly recommend. Nicky Lucero plays drums for the band. Dave cathcing plays guitar, piano and steel guitar on this record. This album is packed full of great riffs and every song is a classic. The main ... Read the complete review
