Aretha Franklin in general:
... Franklin. Where do I begin. Every time I play her records, the power and emotion of her voice just makes me stop and listen. And listen again. There is something about her which appeals to me. It's not just the fact that she has probably the greatest voice in Soul music. It's not just because her songs make me smile and dance. She has a certain edge that makes her one very cool woman that stands out... Read the full review: R-E-S-P-E-C-T by mjtodd |

Eve in general ... a year ago I bought Eve’s latest album, ‘Scorpion’. It was like the soundtrack to my summer. I listened to it on my discman on the beach on holiday, I listened to it when I got back from holiday, and all through the rest of the summer. Has anyone ever put on a CD after not listening to it for ages? Two days ago I rediscovered this album, and all of the summer 2001 memories came flooding back. Music has that effect. Eve truly has made her name as one of todays best female rappers. Her music is hip hop/RnB, and on the album, Scorpion, she even included reggae and work with Ruff Riders, which shows how musically, multi-talented she is. If you d... Roy Ayers - Live ... just ain't the word. As with many American JAzz and funk outfits who's players are of a certain age let us say, Roy Ayers and his band simply cannot be faulted on their live performances. Ronnie Scotts is not condusive to dancing but you just couldn't help but jiggle around inyour chair, tap your feet bang the table and lord knows what else. For this is funk at its finest and the whole point is rhythm. The band pressed all the right buttons and the support act blessem' was obliterated in an instant. Get to see this man if you can but make sure it isn't a sit down dinner kind of venue or your food wqill go cold and your drinks will get spilled. You... Destiny's Child in general ... Child have come a long way in the past 4 years. Their break ups and re-shuffling are infamous and it has made them more high profile each time they have done this. when destinys child became the 3-piece they are now, the knowles influence became more apparent than ever. while beyonces costumes were always more revealing than the other members, kellys also became more revealing while michelle - the outsider - had to be covered up. this was a conscious (excuse the spelling)attempt to glorify those who had been in from the beginning and push them more to the front. in the survivor album beyonce as always had the lead vocals and carried the bulk of the song, kel...
