We booked and did just that, along with countless others who also went to the concert. What a huge let down it was. His opening remarks were to the effect that he was not going to sing Streets of London because he was sick of it and didn't want to sing it again. I first heard Ralph Mctell back in 1972 or thereabouts when he made a recording of Streets of London. I liked the song very much and this later persuaded me to go with my wife and some friends to see him in concert at Bradford University where I was working at the time. He came well up to all we expected of him, his singing was good, songs good and he was very professional in the delivery. We continued with our life remembering how good the concert had been and in later years we had the chance to see him again.
