... to note that despite the hub-bub concerning their excesses, it still boils down to the great music collected here. The booklet also contains a selection of band photographs and song credits. The much-known tongue and lip logo adorns the cover of the set. Apart from noted omissions (no 'Little Red Rooster'?!), the early stuff is top. Beginning with the so-un-60's 'Street Fighting Man', the haunted opening 'Gimme Shelter' and 'Satisfaction', you know that after this hat-trick it's...more

So, here I am. Again, once more. Indefinetly. It's been a while. Let's get to the point: Latest Rolling Stones effort = first time ever defining greatest hits package; almost everyone's talking about it. And it has charted, very high, unsurprisingly. There are two types of people in the world can it comes to popular rock nepotism: The white Buddy Holly blues descendants of The Beatles or the tattered darker black blues by none other than Sir Mick and co's ancient Stones. I am a Stoner, so to speak. Without ranting about The Beatles being soft (for they too, are a great band, and credited greater); The Stones were always much more ...  Read the complete review

This group has lived life to the full – sex, drugs and rock n roll – but now they seem content to let the money keep rolling in via an extensive back catalogue, infrequent concerts and infrequent albums. The most controversial thing to have happened in recent years was when they had to cancel some concerts as Keith was injured. How? Was it ...  Read the complete review

So it appears to the music journalists and so-called real music fans that the Stones are trying to get every last penny out of consumer's pockets. True, I guess but there is, but a question that seems to me that one question remains unanswered to these people at large. Who would you rather see making the money out of Stones' merchandise? Let's not forget that to stay around for a long time that good business organisation needs to be there, and that in my opinion I would rather see the Stones or any other artist have their own kind of merchandise so they can have quality controlover what is sold in the name of the artist on the T-shirt and all other ...  Read the complete review
