This crew from Bristol can write tunes!! Being leapt into the spotlight with the Mercury Prize award for the cool New Forms LP the Reprazent crew have gone from strength to strength. Classics such as Snapshot and Bass from Roni and Drop Bear from DJ Die have been ripping up dancefloors up and down the country in 1999-2000. These guys are certainly the main reason that Bristol is arguably the centre of the drum'n'bass scene ahead of even London. I firmly recommend any release from these guys as it's all good. ...

I'm sorry to say but what started off as fantastic album finished up as something not that great. OK so he won critical acclaim from all sides of the music spectrum, hell, even The Time liked it. But after listening to the full 2CD album about a hundred times I can say it’s not that great. Of the 18 or so tracks only 7 stand out, namely Hi-Potent, Brown Paper Bag and Share the fall. The rest, Hot Stuff, Ballet Dance and the rest merely serve to fill out the bulk of it. Mr Size and Co. have produced much better stuff on V, Full Cycle and with Breakbeat Era. Manchester Academy, 7th June 2001 Eclectic style has always been a trademark of the Roni Size crew and that may be why the live gig presented a contradiction between live instruments and performance and the mixing desk mastery of the digital era. I couldn't quite make my mind up whether this was a Drum and Bass club night or a live performance.
