"Everybody's got something"
Yes me...This damned tune going round and round in my head.
"they had to leave behind"
Yes....this tune!
"one regret from yesterday"
No it was two Saturdays ago actually!
"That just seems to grow in time"
Oh definitely!!!
About a fortnight ago my daughters friend saw an advert on childrens BBC about Auditions for kids 8-14yrs to perform an S club 7 song in a mini S Club on their upcoming concert at Wembley.
One mention of this to my daughter and now we are getting ready for the Auditions in Manchester.
All the details of what songs they can sing and what they will be expected to do are on the CBBC web site.
My daughter has decided she wants to sing Never Had A Dream Come True. So all I have heard for the last two weeks is this song. On the stereo, Her singing it, her humming it, her screeching it at the top of her voice! My partner singing it, The boys singing it, the dog howling it, the cat mewing it.
Whahey wait a minute there is such a thing as overkill!
My daughter is definitely not the best singer in the world and I am fairly sure that she doesn't have the talent to get through the auditions.....(but then you never know...look at Hear'say.)but I am very proud of her though for having the bottle to stand up and have a go.
As far as I am concerned these auditions will be a unique experience for her and one that she hopefully will have many happy memories of in years to come.
I think it is a great idea by S Club 7, or CBBC, or whoever it was that thought the idea up. This gives the average S Club fan the chance to appear on the same stage as their idols.
There are some very talented kids out there who very often don't even realise that they have a talent. This gives these kids the chance to perform and realise what a buzz performing to an audience can give you. A far better
high than any drug.
Obviously at these auditions there will be children who have had singing/dancing lessons or stage school tuition and they may or may not stand more chance of getting through the auditions. As long as we have an enjoyable day out I don't really care.
I do care however that I am gradually growing to detest a song that I originally quite liked through it being constantly murdered by various members of the family.
S Club 7 definitely have a lot to answer for.
