... meaning, and the quality of the lead singers voice, so superb, like nothing I?d heard before. I then went out and bought both albums and fell in love with most of the songs they both wrote and sung. They sing a mix of ballads and fast catchy tunes. Their Ballads are sad, yet the lyrics make them so beautiful and inspiring. Though this is not to say the fast songs aren't any good, because these are equally as deep and as special. Each song is bound to connect with you in so many different ways. It`s just a shame they h...more

I first got into Savage Garden when I heard their first song "I want you". I like the style of their music, so I got into them. Their first album was called "Savage Garden" and it is one of my favourite one. The songs that were released into the charts were I want you - a chart/pop song To The Moon And Back - quite a slow song Truly, Madly, Deeply - a slow love song. "I want you" got re-released in 1998. It was jazzed up a bit and more dancy. More recently they have released a new album called "Affirmation". The songs that have been released off that so far are.... Affirmation - ...  Read the complete review

I like all sorts of music, from the Beatles, Bee Gees, Boy Zone, Shania Twain, Queen etc, but WOW have I been converted. I am now a huge fan of Savage Garden. I never realised who they were, until a friend from Australia asked if I had heard Affirmation by Savage Garden. I said "who on earth are they". I had never heard there name. I know how sad. My daughter had a couple of there songs on CD and she played them, and of course I had heard there music, but did not realise who it was by. I then went out and bought Savage garden and was totally in love with Truly madly deeply and tears of pearls. I could not believe the words, all of which seem to be in our ...  Read the complete review

Newcastle Telewest Arena - Thursday 9th November. The first thing that struck me about this concert was the wide age range that attended. Previously, I thought that Savage Garden would not have been a group that attracted "teeny boppers", but they were the majority, and when the support act came on I realised it was very shrewd marketing by the people in charge of the tour. S.O.A.P. were 2 Australian girls who were like Daphne and Celeste and I might add equally annoying. They played nearly 45 minutes of the worst music I have ever heard. "Soap Is In The Air" being one of these assaults on my eardrums. I have never clapped so loud ...  Read the complete review

I just think that Savage Garden have to be one of the i not the best bands around in music today. With their first single being Truly Madly Deeply i think it was i didn't think it could get any better. They had it all, catchy rhythm, amazingly meaningful lyrics and solely just a brilliant song. I was proven completely wrong though and they've just got better and better and more popular and more popular. With upbeat music alongside slower pieces they really make th words mean something and you can relate to them. I particularly like I want you, To the moon and back and Crash and Burn. Some of which happen to be my all time favourites. I can't get over how they ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Savage Garden in general: CD review: SAVAGE GARDEN - "ULTRA RARE TRACKS" (520 words)

SG fans should keep an eye out for this album,it's quite hard to find (full title: TRULY MADLY DEEPLY - ULTRA RARE TRACKS), as it was only released in Japan (in 1998). It's a compilation of additional tracks and remixes of tracks from their debut album, many of which have not been released at all in Europe. Whilst not everthing's great here - the album lacks the consistency of AFFIRMATION for example, there's a few absolute gems to be uncovered. 1. ALL AROUND ME (B-side to 'The Animal Song' in the UK). Rubbish, to be frank. Starts of promisingly enough, but totally and utterly spoilt by a bit of comedy rapping (!) in ...  Read the complete review
