Advantages: Emo melodies, Great lyrics, Great band
Disadvantages: Not all songs are that good
This band are very unheard of, yet in the underground punk world they are very well known. Their blend of emo and pop punk make for a truly unique experience while listening to them. The 'emopunk' genre is my personal favourite, and is basically seet punk riffs with tearjerking melodies put in the mix. The lyrics are mainly based around relationships, love and girls, and hence makes emopunk a perfect medium for the release of pent up emotions in any teenager. Saves The Day are very young for a band with so many releases, the best of which in my opinion is 'Through Being Cool', with one of my favourite songs by the band being on it - 'Holly Hox, Forget Me Nots'. The band do not tour very often, especially not in the UK, but i'm hoping that they'll come over soon as i'm sure seeing them live would be an unmissable experience. Of course, this kind of music is not for everyone, but for anyone who likes music to effect them emotionally, and give you that shiver down the spine, i very much recommend Saves The Day.

- 05/02/02 Well, you're right about one thing - I'd never heard of them! Welcome to dooyhoo and enjoy the site. |

- 05/02/02 Don't understand this whole emo scene that much. I was under the impression it meant emotional punk music...but isn't all punk suppossed to be emotional. Otherwise you end up like Blink 182.
Perhaps you could improve your op by explaining it a little more. |

- 05/02/02 Hi, welcome to Dooyoo. Sorry to rate your first effort lowly, but I'm afraid a bit more information is expected here. This is actually a pretty good first opinion, but if you read some other very useful ones, you'll see what the standard is. Check out the advice section on the left of your profile - and have a look at the opinions by Tom (Tcraze84) - he's one of the music guides here, and another Saves the Day fan. Let me know if you update, and I hope you enjoy Dooyoo :)
