Ah, the days of being a young metalhead. One is perpetually discovering new acts, new styles, and new friends in the scene. There is, however, one right of passage that we all must go through before becoming one of the metal militia: Slayer. Purportedly, people were lined up at 3:30. The doors opened at 7:30. That?s drawing power for you. When the doors finally did open, and the lights went out, we were treated to a show - That?s for sure. Diecast opened up the show and came out a mild roar. Hey don't get me wrong here, you're all looking at the stars and thinking, "he don't like metal, man" but I do. I'm a true fan of Metal, it's just this band play Heavy Metal and although they play it well I'm not really writing an opinion on their albums. When I was subjected to this music by one of my good friends, my first reaction was "Damn this is giving me chills down my spine". The band is classed to be making "devils music" which ain't my cup of tea seeing as I am a Christian (goes with my name, funny that huh). In a word the only way to describe slayer is evil. With a carreer spanning over a decade Slayer have been able to keep Thrash kicking it's way into the new millenium. Slayer have been proving they can still inspire terror on the Tattoo the Earth tour, where unfortunately they have been over thrown as the main attraction by Slipknot (Sacrelige).We can only hope that Slayer are able to keep up their Thrash music talents to strings of nu-metalers in the years to come. "Reign in Blood" has definately got to be the best offering with tracks like "Raining Blood" and "Angel Of Death" which have made many people start Thrash and Black Metal ...
