Once again i am here writing an opinion to defend an alternative band/musician. First it was Marilyn Manson and now it is Slipknot. just as everyone slags off good old MM, they now slag off Slipknot. They wouldn't be anywhere without there masks, people say. They supposedly fight against conformity and being the same, and yet they all wear identical suits people say. What people don't seem to understand is that Slipknot ARE different. they have nine members in the band for a start. (i know a lame start excuse..but it gets better). They are a great band and don't just sing about being different and fighting conformity, they EnFORCE there beliefs. How many ... Read the complete review

Slipknot's loud, unrelenting sound earned them much attention after their debut album (simply titled "Slipknot") was released. The nine-piece band have opted for the image of freakish masks to hide their appearance and baggy jumpsuits to make themselves look like prisoners or lunatics. This popular nu-metal band have done extensive touring, and are set to return to the UK in November 2001 to promote their new album (titled "Iowa" after their home state), following their hugely successful stint at May's UK Ozzfest. I don’t really have a problem with the image – every band has one, and if they didn’t there would be little point in having photos of them in magazines, and posters too. Well, I do think that they look really sad running around in cheesy little boiler suits and ‘scary’ masks, but obviously that is their choice – every band is allowed ... Read the complete review

SLIPKNOT. Nine masked freaks. Full of anger and hate. Some people are scared by them, others love them. They seriously injure fans, practically kill each other and the clown collects dead animals in jars. COOL. I love them, they are different and they refuse to change for anyone. They stand up for what they believe in, which seems to be death, satanism and boiler suits. One thing bothers me about them though. Apparently they stand up for everyone who is against the commercialisation of people and or groups. Yet they have their own line of chlothes (Boiler suits, t-shirts, hoodies, etc) and they charge ridiculous prices so you can go and see them puke over some member of . Read the complete review
