Advantages: Their music

Disadvantages: Their masks

Slipknot are a nu metal band that have since started making a lot more technical and experimental albums. There are nine members, many of which are in other bands such as stone sour and murderdolls. They are a band that are either loved or hated. There are many plus sides and down sides to slipknot. I'm going to explain both

Plus

THE MUSIC; The members are very good musicians and this is a fact that is usually ignored.

THE ATTITUDE; There are many people who think of slipknot as pointless aggresion but there are songs that cover all emotions and they don't have stupidly big egos "I'm not afraid to cry"

THE FACT THAT SPREAD METAL; Slipknot got many people in to metal and i am sure ten years in the future many big bands will say they were an influence.

THE MASKS; They took this a bit too far and for a bit too long. They made people think of them as a joke.

So to conclude; they are a great band and since they have took a new direction they are getting better and better. I am sure most have heard them but if not, give them a go.
