Due to the airplay it's been receiving on Kerrang (and due to the fact that it's one of the only decent songs on a terrible, terrible channel) this was one that the entire crowd knew. I had expected them to play stuff from their new album, what I wasn't expecting was something far, far better. The band proceeded to launch into 'Arise', an old Sepultura song...more

Hah! I was at the Soulfly gig at the Garage in Glasgow on Saturday and it was amazing! Not just amazing like you'd expect a Soulfly gig to be but REALLY amazing!!! Like i'm sure i've said before, my ideal gig would be the original Sepultura - but this was definitely the next best thing! Stampin' Ground were the support and put on an awesome, energetic show, managing to please the rabid crowd in the process. Highlights included the singer standing with one foot on the stage and one foot on the security rail as he got different members of the audience to sing different lines of a song and an inspired cover of Sepultura's 'Beneath the ...  Read the complete review

This is the real deal my people, this is what you have waited your intire life for. This is no shit that will leave you just thinking what a cool band this is one of those things that doesnt happen very often this shit will blow you a way but it will knock you of your ass. This is a one in a life time thing. Max "The godfather of Nu metal" Cavalera, is outstanding he controlls the audience and are in his command every second of the way. Touring right now with glassjaw and blowing every one away, you dont wanna miss it and even if you try to miss it you wont be able cause it is so fucking huge. Primitive is the second of many and live is so much better. I ...  Read the complete review

Soulfly at this years Ozzfest in the Milton Keynes Bowl was absolutely brilliant they opened by playing ‘Back to the primitive’ this was the in my opinion the best act there, mainly because I just love Soulfly. The had two guest singers on in there set, Tom Araya of slayer where he sings ‘terrorist’ and then the great Corey Taylor of Slipknot came on for their last song that the crowed were calling for the whole set ‘jump da f**k up’ and the crowd went wild, I managed to get to about the second row and had a great view of the band but it was very cramped the word ‘canned sardines’ comes to mind! But it was well worth it ...  Read the complete review

well, soulfly at Ozzfest 2001. what can you say? they were blinding. more than what i expected, with songs such as Back to the Primitive, Bleed, Terrorist with the legend Tom Araya (slayer), Eye for an eye, and a personal favorite of mine, Jumpdaf**k up with the masked leader of slipknot Corey Taylor! and the little dude who came on to sing with them. you go man! Max's guitars are amazing but nothing can beat his skill, pure brilliance. the whole day was brilliant, big cheers for all the bands (specially Soulfly) ...  Read the complete review
