Advantages: great band, ska punk, catchy

Disadvantages: not that many songs

[Spunge] are a fantastic English band. They are ska punk music, which origionates from reggae, so it has an off beat rhythm. I only own the new 'the story so far' album, which was only recently released and contains the singles, shown on Kerrang tv, Roots and Jump on demand.

The first song on the album, the story so far, is great: with a small bit of djing to add to the guitar, bass and drums, it is a overall good song. The second song, the single, Roots which most people have probably heard, is interesting, as it starts quickly with a slower chorus. The lyrics are also interesting. The third song has nice guitar at the beggining, and kind of a ragea beat on the bass. Number 4, change of scene is humorous, as it is about his girlfriend havin a change of scene, meaning a new man. The skanking song is a donated to mullets! The haircut is taken the mick out of through most of this song. Dotted line has more of a heavy goutar start then goes back to light with more funny lyrics (in my opinion). Ego is overall brilliant, as the lyrics are fantastic and the tunes is speedy and it has backing singing in the chorus. Next, Jump on demand, the first single from this album. It has a loader start, and the video is filmed in a garage with them playing in. Number 9, it's over has a brilliant quick drum at the beggining and a catchy chorus. Next, Friend called Fred is ablut having an imaginary friend. The guitar repeats through it and it slows down for a chorus. Finally, Too Litle too late, the last song on the album, which is slower and calmer. It also starts quieter. After this, it speeds up, and gets louder. The chorus is also catchy.

They have released a few previous albums, Pedigree Chump(1999), Room for abuse(2000) and an ep, the kicking pigeons ep(1998). They have also realeased the ego single.
