Advantages: Catchy tunes

Disadvantages: Don't often sing live

I used to really like all the Steps songs that came out, such as 5,6,7,8 and 'After the love has gone' etc. but lately I've gone off their songs. I couldn't stand 'Deeper shade of blue' and I think 'Summer of love' was boring. I think they are trying to change direction and appeal to a wider range of audience instead of perhaps the 'teenyboppers' but I think they should have stayed where they were. I think what really put me off 'Deeper shade of blue' was the video which I thought was awful. Hopefully they will start to realise that the type of song they used to sing was far more popular. But please, will somebody tell me why they don't sing live, especially on Top of the Pops. I know they always have a dance routine, which would make it more difficult, but if I may just mention that the best group of all time, the Backstreet Boys seem to manage perfectly well when they sing live and dance at the same time. Of course the song would sound a bit different, but I would have far more respect for them if they did sing live. It's getting embarassing in this country that so many of our groups/artists mime a lot of the time whereas American artists such as Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, Britney etc. sing live. Try it, you might like it!
