due to the recent split of the great band, many of us have been wondering if pop is still alive. as a matter of fact it is, we already see that westlife has kept pop ahead in the charts, and the pop idol himself has (will young) and of course garath gates, and next week we will see if the sexy holly valance will take the number one spot ... I was sad to hear that Steps have split up. I wasn’t really a fan but I think it will be a shame because I don’t really think any of them will actually sparkle or reach number with any solo hit. They will become the forgotten names and when they’re 30 we will say ‘Oh yes Steps. Can’t quite remember the ... Read the complete review

It must take something to shake up Sugar Matty O from his self imposed dooyoo slumber but the Christmas sledgehammer that was Steps subtracting from one another was just that bombshell to make my turkey taste that little bit sour. Cynical, me? Less a bombshell then, maybe more of a ripple across pop waters, although to be fair ... Read the complete review

Pete Waterman has got a lot to answer for, I mean first off he inflicts us all with Kylie and Jason along with Rick Astley, all of them warbling along to cheesy Pop songs and making millions of pounds from the young kiddywinks pockets, then he betters himself by giving us the abominable Steps. Now don't get me wrong before I ... Read the complete review

Why on earth are Steps still selling records? No, don't answer that. I know all about media hype, and the fact that a lot of parents buy their children this drivvle because their little ankle biters are jumping up and down in front of them begging. This band has got to be the worst of all the many manufactured ... Read the complete review

When are Steps going to stop plagueing our ears with this bubble gum music rubbish, and disappear for ever. All their songs sound the same and they're all as bad as each other. Joke: 'What got 500 legs and no pubic hair?' Answer: 'The front of a Steps concert'. Its pathetic. Steps are basically ... Read the complete review

1. Why, Why, Why? 2. Why are steps popular? 3. Whats with their dancing? 4. Why, if they can't sing, are they in the charts? All these questions may never be answered properly - they will remain some of lives great mysteries. But I will now attempt to answer these questions. 1. Why, you may well ask. ... I used to hate Steps and enjoy criticising their samey songs and false smiles. But my kids loved them. So we bought tickets for their concert in 1999 and they went up to Birmingham to see them live. I managed to get out of going, so my friend took them instead. They all had a brilliant time though and came back full of it. ... Read the complete review

I saw Steps live last night at Belfast's Odyssey Arena, the first concert to be performed in the new space. Well that might be putting it a bit too harshly but thats my opinion of Steps and its what many others think too.
