A real smorgasbord of moods here. "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" earns that title, with a melody that could cheer the hardest of hearts. But then "Maybe Your Baby" follows, and broods for nearly seven minutes on the prospect of an unfaithful lover. After the high water mark of funk that is "Superstition" we're straight into the strangely folksy political song, "Big Brother". One of Wonder's best ballads is to be found on this album. "Blame It On The Sun" is tender, eloquent, both intimate and grand. It's always astounding to remember that Stevie played the vast majority of the parts on this ... Read the complete review

Stevie Wonder hasn't, in my opinion, produced much that's been worth listening to in the last 20 years or so. But back in the 70s, he was something else. By the time "Talking book" was released he'd made the transition from a young prodigy, performing hits like "Fingertips", to a writer and maker of truly innovative music, and this album, together with follow-up "Innervisions" put him in a league of his own. It starts with "You are the sunshine of my life", an easy soul song, with highly charged vocals from Wonder. Like many of the songs on here, it has a light, summery feel, and is very relaxing to listen ... Read the complete review

I have been a Stevie Wonder fan since I was a kid. I was raised on Motown, and remember dancing round my living room to *Signed sealed delivered* when I was about six. Its not the most contemporary style of music to listen to, but I cant help it. His songs are so wonderfully expressive. When, a few months back, I recieved an email from ticketmaster, telling me that Stevie Wonder tickets were being sold, I burst into tears. Literally. He was not someone I ever expected to be lucky enough to see, and, as he hasnt toured the Uk for at least a decade, there was no sign he would ever tour again. I was lucky enough to get tickets, for ... Read the complete review

This isn't going to be a huge long article on Stevie, there are plenty of websites out there that will tel you everything you need to know - such as http://steviewonder.free.fr However I am inspired to write something, after seeing him perform last weekend in the stockholm Stadium, as part of Stockholm Jazz Festival. I didn't realise Stevie has released more than 30 albums, since 1963, so he had a huge catalog of tracks to choose from. Whilst the start of the concert seemed a little slow, within 30 minutes, everyone was really into it. It was hard to see Stevie from where we were sitting, and many had the same problem, and started to rush to the ... Read the complete review

I grew up listening to my sister playing Stevie Wonder tunes from the seventies and recently rediscovered his albulms myself. 'Innervisions' is a great place to start, it features many songs that you will have heard of and many that may never have heard but will soon get your feet tapping. Stevie has a way with lyrics, the upbeat songs just make you want to dance and the beautiful love songs make me want to cry (but in a nice way). I have a Stevie albulm for different moods, 'Innervisions' for dancing around getting ready for a night out and 'Talking Book' for when I want to unwind. I think 'Golden lady' on the Talking book albulm ... Read the complete review
