Advantages: Better than the last album.

Grab a copy of "Life On Other Planets", the fourth album to be released by Supergrass, and as tracks like "Za", "Rush Hour Soul" and "Seen The Light" thunder by you'll be double-checking that you haven't slipped a copy of "T.Rex's Greatest Hits" on by mistake!
If all this is moving you towards the idea that "Life On Other Planets" is a classic album in the vein of "Electric Warrior" or "The Slider" I'd better put a brake on now because it is merely a good Supergass album, a return to form after the disappointment of 1999s eponymous disaster and nothing more.
Perhaps it's the fact that the band come from the relative tranquility of the shires rather than the urban rush of London or Manchester or Liverpool but Supergrass always seem content to do just enough to keep the punters happy - if they were to really knuckle down you get the impression that they could come up with a killer album to rival the "Different Class" genre-defining magnum opus of fellow Britpop refugees Pulp.
Unfortunately Supergrass, like Bolan before them, have a tendancy to pad out albums with some material that even in my kindest moments I would only term "filler" with "Evening Of The Day" and "LA Song" prime culprits here.
THe next album needs to be the killer collection that we know that the band are capable of because even the most diehard fans can only bear the whiff of underachievement for a finite amount of time.

Summary:
