Advantages: Lively, entertaining, good venue,confident,good live sound.

Disadvantages: i had tonsilitis??The first support act

Despite being plagued by tonsilitis seeing S.O.A.D live was awesome!! It was a while ago now (Dec.99) but i thought maybe my views would be worth something to someone if they were thinking of seeing SOAD for themselves!

The support acts wobbled between extremely poor to bearable/listenable, they were The Bardo and Apartment26 ( one band has seemingly sunk without trace(thank god) and the other is doing ok, but havent exactly taken off).

I watched the show from the balcony of the London Astoria, the tonsilitis meant that going in the pit was out of the question as being touched made me want to be sick, but sitting on the balcony i had a fine old time( between starspotting members of the support bands and pitchshifter!).

SOAD played most of the songs on their debut album and threw in a (then) new song- Chicken Stew, also a cover of Black Sabbath's Snowblind was added to the set list!
They are a confident and engaging live band, providing visual as well as audio stimulous. I would go and see them again given the chance.
