... Clash roadie back to Special Brew drinking dole waster. The film uses the protanganist to touch on issues of the time : unemployment, the rise of the national front and the alienation of the youth, often pretty incoherantly. Where the film does suceed is on documenting the incredibly intense Clash live performances, which are awesome to watch. Makes me wish I was born 15 years earlier. An interesting one this. Around 1978 the Clash decided to make a film and got a couple of film makers to get involved. The result, released around 18 months later is a strange affair. Rude Boy is a weird mix of fact and fiction, made especially weird by the fact that its hard to tell what is what at some points. The main protanganist (apart from the Clash) is Ray Gange.
