David Gavurin met Harriet Wheeler while at college in Bristol. They became a couple and started writing songs together. When they were joined by 2 friends Paul Brindley (Bass) and Patrick Hannon (Drums) the Sundays were born. A couple of years later, after much ecstatic critical appraisal of their live shows, their debut 'Reading, Writing and Arithmetic' was released on the legendary Rough Trade label. 'Reading Writing and Arithmetic' was the first of 3 Sundays albums. 'Blind' and 'Static and Silence' were to follow in 1992 and 1997 but their debut remains the cornerstone in their back catalogue.
