Ok maybe I've been watching the videos a little too closely but circa 1970 those trousers were very tight.

Tom Jones adoration came about completely by accident, I just seem to fall into these things.

Myself and my friend Emily decided that David Hasselhoff was the man for us in a comedy kind of way some 10 years ago -but there is only so far you can push a joke (letters from David, photographs, mysterious valantine cards etc) So we hunted around for a new 'mark'.

Tom presented himself, as he does and we grabbed him with both hands (this is going rapidly downhill)

As a joke about 8 years ago we decided to see Tom in the flesh so to speak and purchased some vastly overpriced tickets for his concert.

Now pre reload days Tom was not a great favourite with the youngsters so we were by far the youngest there (17). We seated ourselves in the ranks of the over 50, over exited women and tried to hide.

So that’s a bit embarrassing but we battled on and by time we'd been there about 10 mins ( I repeat... we went as a joke)we had been dragged away from the stage by security guards and Emily was dancing like a women possessed.

Thus began our 'love affair' with Tom. Years on we can no go unabashed to a concert as Toms 'In'. But you still meet the occasional person in the pub who questions what has now become something of a religion. God forbid they should say anything unpleasant about Tom or all hell breaks loose.

The most entertainment we've got so far was the news that Tom no longer... ermm 'romances' the ladies in the carnal sense due to the possibility of disease. But he will let you perform a certain act upon his person...cough.

The release of sex bomb (even that sounds rude know) provided many happy hours of singing

'spy on me baby use satellite, infa red semen moves through the night'

I'm looking forward to many
more years of entertainment, both in the genuine appreciation of Tom and his comic antics.

And when my time comes and Tom takes me by the hand and leads me round the back of the stage....


I'll grab my bag and run like hell.
