The evolutionary process of the mind - my journey with Tool Tool has been my favorite band for almost 17 years and they have helped me evolve my mind, broaden my intellectual capacity and accelerate my thought process. Although it is mostly music that has helped me become inquisitive and curious it is Tool that has been the foremost influence and inspiration on my long path. Curiosity Although I have always been a curious person it is music, Tool in general that has made me want to learn. Anytime I hear something and don't understand it I look it up and learn everything I can about it and then evaluate the subject and the base my opinion and ... Read the complete review

Its been a few years now since I started listening to the the band, the first album me having heard was 'Undertow'. I didn't know what to expect at first but I found the lyrics really getting into my head. My interest began to grow and I gathered my collection of music mainly through Napster. Tool have one E.P. called 'Opiate' and two full albums called 'Undertow' and 'Aenima' with a 3rd full album to be released this year. I can honestly say that all three releases by the band are some of my favorite CD's in my collection. *Band Members* Adam Jones - guitar Danny Carey - Drums/percussion Justin ... Tool. Manchester Apollo. 9th June 2001. Last night was what I have been waiting for for the last 4 years. Tool returned to the UK, ok I also saw them at Ozzfest but thats not the same as a full blown concert. I can honestly say that I have never seen a better band live than Tool. After a wait that seemed like forever whilst watching Cortizone, which I couldn't tell you if they were good or not as I was just too excited about Tool....Tool finally appeared. They had screens set up for the animations and weird video clips that they love and Maynard was on a raised platform in front of one of them. Then they started to play and the atmosphere was ... Tool at this years Ozzfest in the Milton Keynes Bowl was a very good performance, as tool have not been on stage in the UK for nearly 4 years. It started of with the band walking on (except Maynard James Keenan) and started to jam and then broke into their first song with out their singer on stage, then about 4 minutes in Maynard James Keenan walked on stage in a big black leather looking ‘trench’ coat and goggles. He walked to the center of the stage and through the coat to the floor and pulled off the goggles and was just wearing tight black boxers, at this point the crowd cheered and he started to sing. The videos for each song and other movies were shown ... Read the complete review

That was the question I asked when I first heard Tool, the auditory angle is one of an infinant number of facets that make up Tool. Opiate gave a somewhat misleading introduction to who Tool actually are. ON Undertow we get a glimpse of the creative genius that exists within each member and by the time Aenima was released it became obvious that Tool didn't deal in alterni-rock by numbers, this is a band that combines religion and philosophy with science. Combining art and mathematics, this is a band who plan to stretch their audience, make them think about what they are listening to. With the release of Lateralus the entire picture becomes clear. Many lazy ... Read the complete review
