There is something very unique about Weezer. They are truly quite unlike anything else in the music industry in both the way they sound and the effect they have on people. In the same way that 'The Cure' can arguably be said to have started the 'goth' movement, yet were never really 'gothic' themselves (they sang about caterpillars and cats for Christ's sake), Weezer are not at all 'emo'. They are so much more than that. Although the Blue Album was very introverted and geeky, their music doesn't fit in with the rest of the emo oveure. Weezer instead appeal to the niche parts of people, the socially isolated yet pop-culture obsessed - a near universal element ... Read the complete review

I?m just going to rant about all things Weezer right now. First up their latest American tour, the Enlightenment tour. This might be the biggest tour that Weezer has done in the last few years. If you don?t know much about Weezer, you might know the ordeal they went though with their second album Pinkerton. Their first album was a huge success, and Weezer thought that Pinkerton would be no different. This album is said to have started an entirely different type of music called Emo. Why bother? That seems to be the attitude of weezer front man Rivers Cuomo on every aspect of life these days. He doesn’t like his songs, playing them live, listening to them and doesn’t want other people to listen to them either. Oh, and he thinks everyone hates him. There has always been a certain nerdy intrigue surrounding Weezer, with people amazed as to how such ‘geeky’ high school losers managed to capture the admiration of millions around the world by writing some of the best melodic pop songs ever. You will struggle to find someone who has heard Buddy Holly and yet does not like it, even if they won’t admit to it! ... Read the complete review

I first heard Weezer on one of my skate videos, it was the best song I had EVER heard! (it was on the "Arron Feinburg" section on Senate Standfast) and fitted in so well with the tricks he was doing! At the beginning of the song “Say it any so, there is a slow drum beat and guitar riff, then the vocals come in, it goes on for a bit before the songs picks up momentum, from the line “say it ant so” the chorus goes on (which I think is the best bit) and then it goes back to the placid melody before exploding one final time! the song has so much feeling in it and just listening it releases a wave of adrenaline that ...
