I?m just going to rant about all things Weezer right now. First up their latest American tour, the Enlightenment tour. This might be the biggest tour that Weezer has done in the last few years. If you don?t know much about Weezer, you might know the ordeal they went though with their second album Pinkerton. Their first album was a huge success, and Weezer thought that Pinkerton would be no different. This album is said to have started an entirely different type of music called Emo. Weezer does not classify themselves as an Emo band, but this is the CD that triggered it. Even though many people loved the CD, it was not a commercial success. As the years went by though it gained more and more respect, and recently passed gold status in the US. The reason I mention this is because Weezer in the last few years has shied away from playing any of the songs from this album. On their most recent tour though they have been playing all the songs, producing what some fans have said are the best concerts they have seen to date. The tour also is only in outdoor amphitheatre type venues, so the concerts are much more personal. If you have a chance to get to one of these concerts I suggest you put down everything and see history in the making.

My next issue has to deal with the Weezer message boards. Apparently Rivers Cuomo, the front man of Weezer, is showing up on a regular basis and talking to his fans and seeing what they think of the new demos. I have an issue with these message boards though. These people are always complaining about everything Weezer related. They are the most hardcore Weezer fans you will ever find. If you say anything that they dislike, they will make it very clear to you. The one good thing about these boards though is that they do always know anything you want to know. There are always links to all the music videos, and song you want, any interview you want anything you could dream of. If you need anything Weezer I suggest

Next I?ll talk about the new versions of the demos that I talked about earlier. Weezer has been taking advice, and the songs are sounding better musically I think. Of course there are a lot of little things they need to fix, most notably tightening the keyboards up, but for the most part they are dealing with the problems very well. I wouldn?t suggest that you get many of the demos this time around; I would wait a little bit longer until some better versions are posted. One that I do encourage everyone to check out it Queen of the Earth, which is a very different and refreshing sound for Weezer I think.

Lastly I would like to comment on the new Weezer video for Keep Fishin?. The video features the Muppets playing along side Weezer. I very much enjoyed this video, and in this agree with the Weezer boards that this might be the greatest Weezer video of all time. Its just fun, and really works for the song. If you have a chance you really should check out this video which I?m sure will become an instant classic.
