OH MY GOD!!!! Westlife have realeased out YET another cover version of a song that they have COMPLETELY RUINED! How could Ronan Keating actually let the five boys warble their heads off to Billy Joel? Yes I know its for charity and it will so obviously get to number one because so many kids (and grown ups !?!) will want to buy it no matter how bad it is! And besides the single is in aid of Comic Relief so I suppose the nation could do with a laugh watching them perform it (live? maybe not!) on the night's show. Ronan Keating must be a very clever man - he knows a little goldmine when he sees it. Manages a boy-band (an irsh one at that coincidentaly) that is ... Read the complete review

Westlife are boring, monotonous and pathetic. They serve up the same repditive drivel each time they release a single and I pray for the day they split up. They don't write their own songs, they dont play any instruments but still the pre-pubescent girls swoon because they have pretty hair and look nice. OK they can sing and they do it well, but the problem is sing is all they do. How hard could it be to learn to play a couple of guitar chords or write a song. I find it easy and i'm not boasting. They have achieved instant success because their manager is Ronan Keating and have managed to make millions because they are spoonfed to the ... Read the complete review

Right, it's about time I set the record straight. There was a time when I followed what appears to be the masses, despite what people say about the haters being a minority. I'm not really one for soppy songs to be honest with you, but if you've read any of my other music ops, you'll know that I like quite a lot of different stuff. I was always very dismissive of Westlife, that is, until I went to see them...("oh no" everybody begins to think!) I was invited by a friend and I thought "why not?" as I fancied going to a concert. I was lent both albums before I went but I didn't really get round to listening to them because I ... Read the complete review

Be merciful with me. I don't get out much! Seriously, though, I rather like Westlife. In an industry over-run by 'boy bands', I think this particular boyband are talented. I won some tickets to the RTE rock & pop awards 3 years ago, and was in the VIP area of the htel afterwards. I got to spend a bit of time with them (they were called Westside in those days), and they came across as 5 really nice young lads. They sang live at the awards, and they can indeed sing. Mark, in particular, has a great voice. I've bought both their albums (for my daughter of course!!8-) hmmmm) and while some of the stuff on them is ... Read the complete review
