I am going to date myself now. I was and still am a big Wham fan. Yes you've guessed it I am old(ish). For those too old or too young to remember Wham here is a potted history. Wham were made up of George Michael (yes him of the LA toilet fame) and Andrew Ridgely (who? I hear you all cry) who was George's best mate. There were also their side kicks Pepsi and Shirley (who went on to have a brief pop career of their own). Their style was 'pop' there is just no other way to describe them. Their hits were all bouncy and loud with easy to learn tunes and words. Girls all across the world fell under their spell and therefore Wham enjoyed numerous hits ... Read the complete review

It’s difficult looking back now to see how Wham managed to be successful at all. The two members, George Michael and Andrew Ridgely were not ‘hunks’ or blessed with killer dancing moves and the music they produced was only slightly less camp than Culture Club’s. Hits such as ‘Wake me up before you go-go’ and ‘Club Tropicana’ just went to show that punk music the decade before, if anything, had done far too much in enabling absolutely anybody to be famous with limited talent. Having only released two ‘real’ albums, Wham somehow managed to reach legendary status. Compared to other groups in the 80’s ... Read the complete review

I love Wham! Its a shame they had to end! How would we live without"Wake me up before you go go" or "club tropicana"?! I spent my early days at school wishing I was Pepsi or Shirley! We even did a rhyme with coreographed handstands about them! How many bands can boast that?! It was a brilliant start for George Michael's very long and well deserved career. He has a beautiful voice, well suited to ballads, and I dont think anyone can disagree. Im not really sure why Andrew Ridgeley was in the band, I cant really see that he did anything at all! But he did entertain us with his long checked suits and white shoes! Poor bloke, I wonder what ... Read the complete review

Well, I suppose you had to be there really....in the 80's I mean. By todays efforts Wham was completely different. Some would say naff...but not me!! There was something about their music that just made us girls get up and dance (and it still does!!). I suppose you could call Wham the 80's Verion of Take That, and George Michael being what Robbie Williams is today. Just seems to create great songs...even anthems and has all the girls swooning. Artistically Wham was just a starting point for better things as far as George Michael is concerned, but it was a foundation. George Michael and Andrew Ridgely created great music and lyrics (which ... Read the complete review

These guys were a big hit when i was younger. I remember having all the videos and albums and singles. I even went to see them in Concert at Wembley. I loved George michael and i do still like him alot. There was George Michael and Andrew Ridgely and the two backing singers Pepsi and Shirlie. The girls sing in all of their songs and appear in all the videos. They sung Young guns, wake me up befre you go-go, Club tropicana, there are too many to say so these are just a few. I love the song White Christmas, the video was very sad it was about george losing the woman he loved to Andrew. God knows why. I wish they were still here now, George really ...
