Advantages: The Rolling Stones, the Beatles, open your eyes people

Disadvantages: It can't actually happen.Stupid reality., I forgot to put Bob Dylan in.

This, if my imagination serves me correctly, will take place every May bank holiday weekend at Slane Castle. Bon Appetit.

Any similarities between charachters in my op and to people living or dead is purely on purpose.

Saturday 1.00pm
Gomez

To get a good atmosphere, Gomez will kick it all off. The likes of Whippin' Piccadilly and Get Myself Arrested should be enough to get everybody in the mood. Not a huge back catalogue, so only forty five minutes for the guys to impress.

1.45pm
Red Hot Chilli Peppers

For some sex orientated songs and gratuatious swearing, you have to have the Chilli Peppers. They can be tender when they want though, I Could Have Lied and Under the Bridge make an appearance between the likes of Sir Physco Sexy and Apache Rose Peacock. The audience are baffled.

2.45pm
Fun Lovin Criminals

In what must be the single best thing in the history of goodness, Huey and the guys reinact the video of Loco during their set. The music is great, but only the girls notice that. They run through old favorites such as Scooby Snacks, Fun Lovin' Criminals and Love Unlimited.

4.00pm
Steve Vai

Needless to say, most are amazed. In fact, the first aid tent is full of people who aren't sure who they are or what year it is. Steve says that he's sorry he wasn't at his best, but the plane took a lot out of him. A state of emergency is called.

5.30pm
Jimi Hendrix

Assuming I have the power to bring back the dead. The ultimate festival player. It starts with Jimi and Vai playing Voodoo Chile together. Steve asks for a lock of Jimi's hair. The great man obliges.
He plays an amazing set, Purple Haze, Highway Chile, everything. It latter emerges that he has been Cork by the Irish goverment as a sign of thanks.

7.30pm
Led Zeppelin

Robert Plant so
unds more feminine than ever. The audience find themselves on a new spiritual plateau as In the Light is played, and the trend is continued as they knock a hell of a Stairway to Heaven. Among the highlights of their set are Since I've Been Lovin' You and the Rover.

It's been a hell of a day, capped off by Jimmy Page coming down to one of the bars and recounting the madder moments of life in the seventies.

Sunday 1.00pm
Manic Street Preachers

MotorCycle Emptiness has lost none of it's ability to rock. They decide not to play anything off The Holy Bible because, frankly, it's too nice a day to be reminded of what a horrible world we live in. James Dean Bradfield plays Ocean Spray on an acoustic guitar by himself. It's a beautiful and compelling moment, a far cry from the sheer volume of last nights play.

2.15.pm
R.E.M.

Some of the guys are hesitant to show signs of approval at first, but everyone sings along to Losing My Religion and Man on the Moon. Nightswimming and At My Most Beautiful further soften the mood.

3.00pm
U2

The crowd erupts when the band emerge from their 40ft lemon. The band go straight into Elevation, which is more than enough to get the crowd up for it. After the song Bono entertains the crowd with a speech about how great it is to be playing in Ireland again. They then start playing again, much to the delight of the crowd, many of whom are not used to the ramblings or rock stars.
They play a two hour set, playing songs from all periods, from Bad to Lemon. One is the highlight though, the sight of ninety thousand people singing along to one of their songs is too much for Adam, who breaks down half way through.

5.15pm
Radiohead

The songs from their last two albums sound so fresh and only now do some truly come to appreciate them. Idoteque is loud and vibrant, Pyramid Song is emotionally charg
ed and Life In A Glasshouse is just plain good.
Apparently Bono just can't get enough of this crowd, he joins them on stage where they perform an unlikely cover of David Bowie's Heroes. Bono stays to watch them play Paranoid Android.

6.45pm
Rolling Stones

A surprise appearance, the guys come out to play Sympathy for the Devil, Satisfaction and Salt of the Earth and then wait for what everyone has come for.

7.15pm
The Beatles

John, Paul, George and Ringo perform their first live performance in thirty two years. From Lve Me Do up to the Long and Winding Road, they play the best from all their eras. George even gets to play his solo composition All Things Must Pass, performed so well it's amazing that he's been anywhere near a hospital.
It's an emotional time for everyone, the crowd and band alike.
