Its hard to fault or hate Will Smith, hes one of the rare talents we see today from his successful music career to tv and then hollywood, there isnt much Will Smith hasnt achieved hes recieved all sorts of music and movie awards and been crowned as Hollywoods most powerful actor [in money sense i guess], he now also produces tv shows/movies.

Music Career

from a young age Will knew he wanted to be a rapper, in the late 80's he had caught the influence of most rappers and decided to write his own raps with curse's untilhis grandmother found his book and wrote a note in the book telling why people dont need to put cursing in their rhymes to make good music, since then Will has stuck to his grandmothers advice and to this day hasnt had a Parental Advisory stamped on any of his albums, the first music album produced was Rock The House who featured his partner in crime DJ Jazzy Jeff, the two met at a party while Jeff was the DJ for the night and Will decided to get on the mic and since then the pair released 5 albums and several hit singles including their most famous and successful Summertime which won the duo a Grammy and Parents Just Dont Understand which won them the FIRST ever rap Grammy. In 1993 the duo decided to split on mutal terms and released their final album Code Red which featured the hit single 'Boom! Shake The Room.'.

Since then smith focused on his solo music career with releasing 4 albums, the first being called Big Willie Style went 14x Platinum and won smith another 2 Grammys for Best Rap Solo Performance for 'Men In Black' and 'Getting Jiggy Wit It' which went in the record books for being the first artist ever to win 2 Grammys from the category for the 2 songs off the same album. Since then another 3 albums with his most recent entitled Lost And Found in 2005 featuring the classic 'Switch', the album reached number 6 in both the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album Charts which should spurr smith on for a possible 5th album.

Tv Career.

One of the most popular tv sitcoms The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air was smiths saviour from debt, inbetween his first album with Jazzy Jeff he was visited by the IRS and with a $2.8 million bill of unpaid taxes, everything he owned was taken from him and was left with barely enough to get by. Smith decided to get away from it all and on his travels was snapped up by NBC to star as himself in the hit show.

The Fresh Prince was highly successful and ran for 6 years winning several awards and being nominated a several times including some from the Golden Glodes and Emmy Awards, inbetween doing each series Smith also did a couple of movies which started to raise his reputation as a movie/tv star.

Movie Career.

Smith is mainly recognized now a days for his movie life, hes been a box office since his most successful film to this day "Independance Day" which came out at the end of The Frehs Prince in 1996 made a massive $800+ million worldwide.

Since then Smith has made a number of box office hits including Bad Boys, Men In Black, I Am Legend and Hancock but his most recent Seven Pounds has only taken in $130+ worldwide making it one his most least successful films gross wise.

But with films comes awards with most of them won in the form of Best Actor category and several nominations its not hard to tell why he remains at the top of the hollywoods most powerful actor with an apparent solo earning of $20 million plus per film.

Production Career.

Lately smith has come into producing several of his films and with his wife Jada created his own tv sitcom entitled "All Of Us" which ran from 2003-2007, his latest film he produced was Seven Pounds and other projects such as Lakeview Terrace which stared Samuel L Jackson, with his son now coming up into acting his upcoming project of the Karate Kid remake smith will also be producing.

Overall.

From music to movies there is little at fault with Will Smith, he continues to impress with smash hit films and whereever he goes crowds are screaming at him, at only 40 there is much more room for box office movies and a possible 5th album, well done Will Smith.
