Advantages: everything, It's Will young

Disadvantages: Nothing

Last night was one of the best nights I have had in ages, and it was all down to one man, Mr Will Young. After seeing Will 3 times last year and twice the year before I thought to myself that nothing he could do could make the night as good as previous times, but how wrong could I be.

Shrewsbury Quarry was the venue, set in a beautiful country park. We arrived at Shrewsbury (after getting lost) at around 4.45pm when we got there the queue wasn't to big so we plonked our bottoms down on the pavement and prepared for a hour and a quarter wait until they opened the gates. Whilst we were waiting we could hear will rehearsing in the background then we heard his support act rehearsing. Finally after a few bottles and butties they open the gates. Everyone flooded into the park, and to my shock there were 3 different entrances, which I wasn't impressed about as there were more people streaming in than I thought. So we ran down a hill to reach the front of the stage. After getting to the front (there was one line in front of us) we sat down again to wait for another two hours until the support act started.

The stage was brilliant, Jools Holland had played there the night before. It was massive. It was all set up with scaffolding and loads of lighting, there was a backdrop, which later glowed with loads of different coloured lights. In the middle of the stage at the back there was a raised part with stairs leading either side. And on the right hand side there was a small raised circle stage. The park as a whole was massive, there was at least 20,000 people in there by the time the concert started. There were several food carts, selling hot dogs and the usually burgers ad stuff. There was a donut cart and the best of all A licensed bar. There were people hiring Tables and chairs in case you wanted to sit down but you could only sit at the back with the chairs. There were about 50 portaloo's, which got worse and worse as the day went on, by the end of the night I wouldn't have dared go into one. Then there was the souvenir stall Programmes were £10, T-shirts were £20 and there were a few mini items all above £5.

8pm came and his support act came on, after going to 5 different Will concerts Will has yet to come up with a descent support act, and he didn't fail tonight. They were terrible. I can't even remember their name as I thought to myself this is toilet break time. After 45 minutes of complete hell they went off stage, all the technical staff then came onto stage to get it set up ready for Will to come out. Just after 9pm and after a we want will chant, Will graced the stage There was a massive roar from the crowd and everyone was cheering and screaming. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing.

Will kicked off the concert with his last single Your Game, dressed in his usually scruffy jeans and jumper he wooed the crowed with this great rendition. Will sang two new songs then and then stripped off to just a black vest, and jeans. He had a chat to the crowd and was very witty, he had the crowd in stitches. After singing a few more from his previous album he got changed into a green waistcoat and top hat. He then sang his way through introducing his band, which gave it a brilliant touch. He had a laugh at the police who were all gathered in a circle watching the concert up on the hill. Will was joking saying someone had hurt themself while they were jumping up and down and cheering…lol. After singing Leave right now, Will took a bow and headed off stage.

Obviously the We Want Will chant started again and after what seemed like forever, Will came back out on stage. He sang Save Yourself, which he had sung on his previous tour and his future new single, I liked his performance of this as he did some really good dance moves which showed a rather large bulge in his pants, lol. . He then ended by singing Friday's child. The whole band took a bow and headed off stage as hundreds of fireworks went off behind the stage. Will hadn't sung Evergreen, which was a bit of a disappointment, but I left the concert a happy bunny.

I had a fantastic night, the fact that it was all done in open air on a glorious summers day made it very special, it was like going for a picnic but with a huge added bonus. I will be enjoying this whole experience again on the 31st July when I get to go watch Will Young again at Tatton Park, and I cannot wait.

Thanks for reading
