The most vivid musical memories of a not-entirely musical childhood are of one album -Band On The Run, by Paul McCartney & Wings. A double-CD,40 song retrospective of Macca's post-Fab Four stuff, including his efforts with wings,the successful 70's band he formed with wife Linda and chums. What's it like? Luckily,Paul turns out to be a good judge of his songs,hand-picking his best songs to show off the remarkable range and depth of his tunesmithery.The collection is divided into 'Hits' on one CD and 'History' on the other. Thankfully there's no place for 'We all stand together' or 'Ebony and Ivory'.
