COMPUTER LEARNING SHOPS - Are you aware that you can undertake computer training in Further Education Colleges from £11 to £35? They offer a learning environment of 40 computers. You work through text books at your own speed but there is always someone to call on. They also offer small classes of 10 in a group to learn new skills before attempting the training material. The most amazing thing is that they are open from Mon - Fri 9 am - 9 pm and Fri and Saturday 9 am-5 pm . You must attend at least 4 hours per week. You can book these session at times which suit you so its excellent if you work flexible hours, eg hospitals etc. Also, there is no summer break they are open all the year round. Most centres work towards the City & Guilds Qualifications so it will look good on the CV at the end of the programme. I have set up 3 of these Learning Shops and it is a pleasure to see people becoming confident with computers so I know they work. There are a number of these Computer Learning Shops in Herfordshire at Letchworth, Hitchin, Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City but they are springing up all over the country. Ring your local college and see if there is one open near you.
