Advantages: See opinion!
Disadvantages: None!
Having ideas is great, you wake up in the morning and think that you have come up with a solution to a problem or something that was bothering you and you feel fantastic. As I said having them is one thing but acting on them is another! I thought that the recent spate of opinions by people on their favourite thing was a wonderful idea. It was the brainchild of Jill Murphy and marked her forth year being free from cancer. I don?t know about you but I tend to use dooyoo in a certain way. I read and rate the people who read and rate me. They tend to be my friends (in a virtual sense) and those others whose work I like to read. Only very occasionally will I stray from these people to sample a new writer. When the favourite thing opinions started to hit the site I felt that I should try to read as many as possible and did just that. It introduced me to some wonderful writers and got me thinking about the community aspect of dooyoo. You are wondering what any of this has to do with charities? Well, let me explain. Mauri, one of my virtual friends, received a crown for his favourite thing opinion and kindly donated his miles to charity. I thought that was a very decent thing to do. My feeling is that once you have amassed enough miles to claim a voucher that the temptation is there to go for something that you want. It is one the strongest among us who can give to charity after putting in all that effort for many weeks. But what if it was easier to donate? What if there was a way that you could donate the odd opinion and someone else would donate the miles for that opinion to a charity? Would that be an easier way? I thought of a user called FORCHARITY. I thought of it but it was Jill Murphy and Katie Bingham who helped make it happen and I want to thank both of them for their help and support over the last few days. So what do you have to do? Whenever you feel in a generous mood just write an opinion and email it to Jill Murph
y (jillmurphy@blueyonder.co.uk) Add the little note at the bottom of the page so that people know your identity. You have taken the time to donate your work so you should take a little bow! It can be on any topic, this one is the introductory one but please feel free to express yourselves, as I know you will. Jill will send one opinion per day to Katie at dooyoo and she will post it under the FORCHARITY account. All of the miles will go to the charity that appears on the account profile page. You can check the profile page for more details on how this works. Another thing that you might want to do is add FORCHARITY to your circle of friends or look out for new opinions from FORCHARITY. The more reads we get the more money we can donate. Thanks for reading. MurphEE 2002 MurphEE donated this opinion to the FORCHARITY account. To read more about this initiative go to the FORCHARITY profile page and all will be explained!
