Advantages: Location

Disadvantages: Expensive parking

Castlecourt has undoubtedly been shaken by the opening of the new Victoria Centre not far away but it still seems so bausy whenever you go in. A typical big glass box it's odd how the impact of the architecture has faded with time. A bit tatty round the edges but still full of life. Debenhams is the anchor store, funny comparing it to the newer House of Frazer which seems much more spacious and has the major advantage of having natural light. Many of the other stores are a little low end, bargain books, Burton, Perfume shop, Evans etc. Little to get excited about, fair range of shops though. Laura Ashley and Gap haed up the posher type of shops. One major annoyance is expensive car parking although the Victoria Centre is even worse. There's life in the old girl yet, I'd imagine that Castlecourt will continue on as a major if slightly faded shopping venue.

Summary: Still going despite competition.
