Advantages: You can get alot of bargains, you can sell things on there that you no longer want..

Disadvantages: You can end up paying over the odds for things.

I think you can definately get addicted to Ebay me and my friend used to go on there all the time. I brought more on there then I had sold. Some of the things I have brought on there I could of got for cheaper in the shop so don't no why I brought on there like I brought colouring books for my friends child for Christmas last year for nearly 3 pound they only had a bout 10 pages whereas I could of got him one in a pound shop which would of been better and cheaper. I think nearly everyone these days has been on Ebay I find the fun of it when you are waiting to see if you have won an item then at the last minute there is a bidding war and then you outbid someone, you can actually get quite a lot of bargains but if you get to carried away with your bidding you can actually pay more then the items worth. I have sold a few items on Ebay which I enjoyed well when they sold I did. The items I sold went for quite cheap. We actually sold my husbands motorbike on there, we were left in suspense as we had lots of watchers and we didn't no whether anyone would bid so you find yourself constantly logging in to see what happens. I'm not addicted now as I barely go on it as find a lot of the things I want I probably can go to the shop and get it cheaper, but if I see a bargain then I'll be bidding again.

Summary: Overall Ebay is a great site.
