Advantages: Long lasting, good quality and comfortable!
Disadvantages: Bit over priced: good to wait for sales
I have enjoyed wearing Ecco shoes for some 3 years now and have not encountered any problems with them!
A danish company founded in 1963 the sales advisors always explain that the purpose of Ecco aheks is that thy are shoes built around the shape of your foot and Not the hoer way around. I have 2 pairs of trainers from them which are AMAZINGLY comfortable and a pair of boots which I have to say for heels (which I can't wear too often as they cripple my toes) that I've had about year and when I wear them I've worn them all night with No pain! The best feature about Ecco is that their shoes are all 100% leather and so when a pair of boots are £150 I am happy to pay the price as I know I am getting quality and comfort. I have bought boots elsewhere and the upper has fallen apart and the sole has come apart and it's difficult to re-sole...AND THEY ARE NOWHERE NEAR AS COMFORTABLE!
One comment I will say about Ecco is that not all of their shoes are as comfortable as they advertise it totally depends on peoples feet; whether they are wide (as their designs have gotten a lot narrower) or if people have a high instep they may find difficulty finding an ideal pair. Also Ecco footwear comes with removable insoles Which I appreciate as I have friends who need to put in orthotics so I have recommended Ecco to them.
In store, I have found sales assistants quite pushy in regards to buying all this shoe care! Waterproofing sprays etc Which I find are a waste of money as they don't do anything special!
Summary: Not for everyone but a pair is always a good investment for 4-5 year shoes for me!
