Advantages: tasty

Disadvantages: lots of cals

We are in Tasmania an island just of the shoes of Australia. Imagine a bee in a forest of leatherwood trees, it is springtime the bee is collecting nectar from the many large white flowers Leatherwood essence cleanses the heart and brings joy. (I hope some of this joy is transferred via the nectar to the honey and reaches me I could do with some joy.) This busy bee takes the nectar back to the hive where it is made into honey to provide substance for the worker bee larvae to eat mixed with pollen. Some one collects this honey and sells it to Rowse who then put it into jars. I bought one of these jars of honey from Tesco for £1.99 for 340g.

The leatherwood honey is thick creamy amber yellow coloured honey taste sweet but not as sickly sweet as some others a fairly strong fresh scented herbal taste. I smell the honey it does smell sweet I can imagine my nose pressed into the centre of a bunch of exotic flowers on a warm sunny day.

I eat my peas with honey,
Ive done it all my life,
It makes the peas taste funny,
But it keeps them on my knife.

Well I do like honey but maybe mot with peas I like mine on toast, I like mine straight from the honey comb, I like mine made into a honey cake or brewed into mead, I like Rowses Tasmanian Honey in the mornings with my slice of toast I have used it to sweeten things instead of sugar, made a honey and lemon drink to soothe a winters cold. Rowse Tasmanian honey is a good with a distinctive flavour. There are
307 kcal per 100g, yes a lot of cals but only a little honey is necessary to use.
Thanks for reading . Mary , wishing you a very merry christmas
