Advantages: Morrisons
Disadvantages: Tesco
Here is a review of two supermarkets in Chester - Tesco and Morrisons.
Despite Tesco being a household name, I do not like the Tesco store in Chester. First of all you have to pay for parking at £1.50 an hour (although depending on how much you spend in store dictates how much free parking you can have). The store is small yet they have still tried to cram everything into it, including DVDs and a clothing range. The tills are often so busy, despite them all being open there are long queues. There is always at least one lift out of order, creating massive queues when other shoppers try to get out of the store. Staff appear overworked and rude if you require assistance.
Contrasting Tesco is Morrisons:
I think Morrisons is the best supermarket in Chester! There is a wide selection of items available. The fruit and veg are well displayed and I have never bought anything that has started going overripe, which isn't the case from other stores. The meat is fresh and there is an in store butcher which means the meat is of a better quality than most supermarkets. Prices are reasonable and you can choose from the "value" products and up. They often have a fantastic deal on, for example they had a Wii for sale recently for £154, as well as a 2GB memory card for just £7.49!
