ChrissieH Ranweli Holiday Village: ... stayed in the Ranweli resort in January 2003 for two fabulous weeks and have just returned to the grey skies of London. Ranweli Holiday Village is one of the most beautiful, tranquil and relaxing places I have ever stayed in (and I have travelled a lot). It is located approximately 45 minutes from Colombo Airport and is on a peninsula with the Indian Ocean one side and a lagoon on the other side. There are r...

SETTING The Athenaeum hotel is a beautiful hotel situated in Mayfair, about five minutes walk from Green Park station and ten minutes from Hyde Park Corner. It diff...

Wease Titchfield Abbey Golf & Fishing
... deepest, darkest Hampshire*... lies a 15th century tithe barn and 67 acres of land... but hey no... that is not the big wowzer of it all... because the real star of the show is the gem that this fine area boasts... in fact 2 real gems and one mini gem (ooh do you remember them? You know the little biscuits with the iced thing on top... mmm lovely!... sorry back to the point)... yes three 9 hole par 3 pitch and putt courses! Can you believe it... 3 in one place... and having just rediscovered this local beauty I simply must tell you all about it! Way back in 1994 (that’s actually longer ago than I realised!) the Tithe Barn, lying in historic Titchfield, was a ...

jammaker49 Afternoon tea
... As my daughter's birthday is in the middle of the week, and we are going out in the evening of the previous Sunday (Neil Diamond is in town!!), she decided that instead of going out for the usual evening meal in a restaurant, we would instead go for Afternoon Tea at the Lanesborough Hotel, located at Hyde Park Corner. She chose this one for 2 reasons. a) because it is close to the underground, so we can quickly get to Earl's Court for Neil Diamond! b) I think she fancied the strawberries and champagne upgrade! WHERE DID TAKING AFTERNOON TEA ORIGINATE? Afternoon Tea is recognised around the world as being something traditionally British. No-one is cert...
