Advantages: facilities, price, beautiful scenery

Disadvantages: sea a bit rough

The hotel is located in the Playa Dorada complex close to Puerto Plata. It has a 3* rating, which in my opinion leaves the hotel much underrated.
Accomodation is in the form of chalets, or small maisonette type apartments, the majority of which have a balcony, all rooms have a tv,air conditioning and the usual towels etc. Surprisingly clean and spacious with maid service daily to change towels etc.
The hotel operates on an all inclusive basis, with the main dining area, a pizza bar open on an evening and 3 ala carte restaurants in which you can eat several times per week free of charge (the hotel is well run and i found if you werent happy with the food in the main eating area you could eat in the ala carte whenever). But having said that, the meals are delicious and very well presented, such dishes as steak, sea bass etc. Fresh fruit smoothies mixed while you wait, wine by the carafe all included in the price. Plus you also have a beach buffet every lunchtime and a bar on the beach also. 6 bars in total, including one in the reception and a pool bar leaving you able to enjoy free drinks from 11am until 2.30am if you opt to go onto the ambrosia nightclub again included in the package prices.
Buggy service to the beach, a free beach towel service is available, free watersports too. This hotel is exceptional value for money all round. The staff are exceptional, I found it a shame that not enough locals were employed by the hotel as I have found the Dominican people to be very friendly and polite, with not a care in the world. I will without a doubt be paying this hotel a visit again in the near future.
