Advantages: No dirty great dish on your house!

Disadvantages: More expensive, no Sky Sports Extra

I have been with Cable & Wireless for about 2 and a half years. I decided that their analogue service was far too expensive - I was paying about £35 a month for the 3 Sports and 3 Movie channels, and about a dozen other crappy channels. As Sky were offering twelve movie channels, the sports and about 50 other channels for £32 a month, I cancelled the subscription to C&W and arranged for Sky to come round (I hadn't actually been told that cable digital was available in my area until I phoned to cancel, even though I had asked to be informed on numerous occasions). When they came they wanted to put the dish on the front of my house next to my bedroom window (wives are not too keen on that sort of thing!), and said I'd have to pay an extra £40 and reschedule (meaning taking another day off work and not getting paid!) so I decided to stick with C&W but upgrade to digital.
The service is actually pretty good, and you get an albeit very limited internet type access included and e-mail, which doesn't cost any more. I am now paying £34 a month for Sky sports (though I can't get the Sports Extra and interactive) and twelve movie channels, and about 8 other channels. The line rental is included, but I have a BT line which I like for the caller display service, so this is not really an advantage to me. I have seen Sky'd digital and I do think that C&W's digital is much tidier and presented better, though a bit slower to update.
Hopefully now that they've gone to NTL it'll be a better service, as I have had numerous problems with C&W in the past.
