The Calpol advert is quite boring and in my opinion doesn't really tell the truth about the tremendous value of it to children. It shows it as another medicine but in my opinion it's much better than that. The advert that doesn't come on the TV that much fails to excite me so read the op instead and hopefully it will make you want to buy or atleast appreciate it's value!!! Dooyoo have children? If so then read on, if you haven’t still read on because you probably have small cousins who will require this. Calpol is an excellent medicine to have in the cupboards and is perfect for children. Calpol is sugar free so you don’t have to worry about their teeth and comes in a strawberry flavour so tastes pretty good too. It is really good for relieving toothache, feverishness without irritating the stomachs, colds, sore throats and general illnesses which may make the child feel ill. My daughter had the cold, a sore throat, and a temperature. As a result she could not get to sleep at night and was crying, so I gave her a 5ml spoon of Calpol medicine and it seemed to work instantly and she fell asleep which meant I could have a good night sleep to. Calpol is excellent for relieving pain but I do have a couple of problems with it. The older the child the more medicine you have to take to relieve pain. For example my six year old cousin came round and was complaining of a toothache so I gave him some Calpol. The same dosage I would give to my four year old. But, it didn’t seem to do any better. I felt that if I gave him another dosage it would be like over dosing him with medicine, so I decided not to. So, when his Mum came round I told her about how much medicine I gave him and she told me that normally she has to give him two 5ml Calpol spoons three times a day. Looking at my bottle that would mean nearly half the bottle gone! So the next time I went to purchase Calpol I did find some stro
nger versions of Calpol for older children. You can buy Calpol over the counter from all Pharmacies for about £4.25. I do think it’s a touch expensive for the size of the bottle but it is good at relieving pain and you can’t put a price on that! It’s not available on prescription so if you want it you will have to pay for it. I do like the different flavours they come, the last thing a child needs is to have a ‘horrible’ tasting medicine so the strawberry flavour medicine is a good idea. There’s also a Orange version for older children. Always read the label before you gave your child your medicine and although it’s great at getting rid of fevers for more serious illnesses do go to the doctor. In my opinion its always good to have Calpol medicine in the medicine cabinet because you don’t know when you will need it.
