Advantages: Lots of channels

Disadvantages: Customer service is bad, long contracts

On 7/9/2007 I came home and my service was turned off. On 6/22, I paid on-line and apparently, the payment didn't go through because a number was miskeyed. On 6/23 the cable was turned off and I immediately called and give the cs rep info to correct the error for $115. I understand that I owed $125 or whatever at the time but the rep on the phone never said anything about the service being disconnected if payment was not received in full. So basically my service was turned off because of $10 or 12 bucks. Not only that but I was told that I needed to make the payment that is due 7/20 today for services to be restored. Which I wasn't expecting to pay the 20th. In taking to a supervisor I was told this is how we notify our customers by turning off the service which is a ridiculous policy. But you guys are quick to send newsletters and payment confirmations but turn off the services. Why couldn't an email be sent to left me know I needed to pay the $10? Had I been notified of this policy, I would have followed through immediately. Not to mention, a credit is never received when the cable goes out!

I have been a DishNetwork customer for a while, but I can't wait until my contract is up to find another service provider. No matter if that means giving up some channels for better cs.

Summary: DishNetwrk customer service really stucks!!
