Satellite services that are available are not upto the standard in my opinion.

Why? Well read on and you will know what I mean.

We moved to our new flat just recently. Well about six months ago. So as you can imagine there are lot of things you need to buy when you move to a new place. Our Television was one of them. It is just perfect.

Anyway as you all dooyoos know although we pay so much for our TV licence, BBC are not offering that much entertainment. So we decided to get SKY Digital. Rang them, made an appointment. Paid them in advance otherwise they wouldn’t install the dish. OK! That’s fair enough. I took a day off, as they can’t tell what time the engineers are going to come. So I had to sit at home and just get more bored. Morning gone, and so is the afternoon and it is 4.50 PM. Great! Atlast! I heard my doorbell ring. And yes it was the cable guy who had come. As if the waiting was not bad enough, this cable guy turns round to me and says ‘I AM AFRAID I CAN’T INSTALL THE SATTELITE DISH’. What a shock! I obviously asked why. He tells me that because I live on the top floor and the outside of my flat is covered with slates, it is not strong enough to hold the dish. OK! Am I allowed to loose my temper?

Anyway, I decided to call NTL and they said the same. Another day was wasted.

I had given up on this. As it happens, my BT bill was due to be paid. So I rang BT up. First came the boring music, then there was this recorded message telling me that I could buy ONDIGITAL (ITV DIGITAL) for a monthly subscription of £5.00 only. But you have to sign a 12 month contract. There is no drilling for a cable. All I need to do is call up this number and mention to them that I am a BT customer. I was all excited.

As you all must have guessed, yes I rang ON Digital. After taking a few details, they said to me that I would be sent a Digital box.
So we were waiting eagerly for this box to arrive. And that day came. My husband installed everything, selected the channels and Pronto! There they were lots of channels. No more 5 channels to watch.

You get various boring channels depending on the area you live in. This is due to the coverage hust like mobile phones. They check your postcode and see how good is the coverage.

I was told that the area I live in has very good coverage. Yeah right!

My son was happy because he could watch Cartoon Network. Husband was happy too as he could watch Sports and BBC NEWS 24. And me I could not watch anything as these two are always watching something! Well sometime I could watch UK Horizons and BBC Choice when I have a day off, my son is at school and husband at work.

We also watch some of the Onrequest movies. Recently there was an offer for one weekend. Mission Impossible 2 for £1.00. Yep we definitely watched that and enjoyed it very much.

It would be nice if they could offer multicultural channels and more choice in choosing from the variety of the channels.

One more thing I would like to say is that our flat is located near a main road. So everytime a car passes by, the picture either freezes or flickers or it goes completely blank. How annoying.....

We rang up On Digital and they apologised nicely and told me there is nothing they can do to stop this. Great!

It is still not what I want but it will do for the time being I guess as I don't have choice.
