Advantages: taste

Disadvantages: tacky adverts

I have discussed this topic with my friends and family at length and have found that most young people like me find these Gary Linekar Walkers crisps adverts, well....frankly BORING. The only thing that is changed from time to time is the context in which Gary pinches some crisps. My friends and i find this annoying and positively unimaginative, as well as a cunning plan to distract attention from the rapidly reducing amount of crisps actually found in packets today!

In contrast to this, i have found that the 'older' generation seem to find these adverts HILARIOUSLY funny. Can anyone fill me in on why? Because I seem to be missing the hilarity of it all! Of course, it may be because my mum is from the Midlands (the area where Gary grew up and where Walkers crisps started) but this theory cannot apply to everyone who likes these adverts.

I would love to find them funny - i really would. It just doesn't seem to make me laugh.

The quality of the crisps, (except from the occassional smaller than usual quantity of crisps) is very high. Many of the flavours of the crisps are mouthwatering, the packets are well presented and the price is very reasonable but the reputation and the overall image left in the minds of my friends and I is somewhat tacky, boring and unimaginative.

I beg Walkers to launch a new FUNNY set of adverts that would appeal to the younger generation, rather than just those who were around in Linekars England days. They would not have to cut out the Gary ads, just vary them a bit more.
I do admit when Michael Owen and Becks were on the adverts this did appeal to the younger generation slightly more, but only for a "limited edition" time.

Please Walkers, get some new ideas!

I would imagine it's quite hard to make crisps interesting, but they do seem to be churning out the same old tired ads right now.
