Beadsmith 8 Piece Colour I.D Mini Pliers Set ... are one of the best known suppliers of jewellery making tools and equipment, and with good reason! Their quality is superb, and the prices aren t generally bad either. This dinky tool set is no exception. I already had a few full-sized jewellery tools (a couple of pairs of pliers and a wire cutter), but I wanted to expand my collection and felt that this Beadsmith set would be just the job. The Color I.D. tools all have different coloured handles, which is great as when you re in a hurry it s normally really easy to pick up the wrong pair of pliers as they do tend to look similar at a glance. Fimo Modelling Clay ... is one of the best known and most respected modelling materials in the world and for good reason. It s widely available from places such as Hobbycraft and ebay and comes in a massive range of colours and finishes. It s recommended for anyone age 8 and above. It s similar to Play Doh but without the smell of marzipan (this is both a positive and a negative depending on whether you like the smell of marzipan, I guess!) and it can be hardened. This expands its uses greatly. I tend to use it to make miniature food for dolls houses, but in the past I ve used it for jewellery, models and door plaques. Moleskine Large Sketchbook ... was the book of choice for Hemmingway so I go with it for most things be it a small pocket notebook or in this case a large sketchbook. I have to say, as a sketch book, I was a little disappointed and I would probably look to other brands. The main problem is the paper. It is of a good weight but it is just not versatile enough for all sketch book needs given the almost glossy finish of the paper and how smooth it is. This is just not workable for anything beyond pen or pencil as there is just no texture to the paper. At about 100 pages per book it is also incredibly overpriced for what you get.
