Crayola Glitter Crayons
by StazKilly
Just reading a few reviews of see crayons here on ciao and they seem to be highly rated :/
My experience is a bit different. I'm sure you've all heard of Crayola, who are a popular brand of arts and crafts accessories and games, most famously coloured pens, pencils and crayons.
I bought these for my daughter at ... Christmas as she likes colouring and glittery things, so I thought they'd be an ideal stocking filler.
There are 16 crayons in the pack. The colours are basic colours you usually get in a pack this size, blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, white, grey, black and lighter or darker shades of each. They are the small thin crayons, so not suitable for heavy handed kids as they would snap very easily.
To look at the crayons, they do glisten a tiny bit, and you can see they contain glitter, but when used on paper to colour in, they are just not glittery at all. They were advertised to add sparkle to a picture but, this is not the case. Don't get me wrong I wasn't expecting loads and loads but I mean a bit would have sufficed!
They colour really well like any other crayon and the colours go onto paper perfectly fine, but you wouldn't know they were glitter crayons at all. You can see a tiny spot here and there on large bits such as sky and grass but other than that, nothing.
I wouldn't recommend these, especially for the price of them. You're paying for the fact that they are glitter, but you are basically wasting your money. I am glad I used a bit of a DooYoo amazon voucher for these, and never paid the £3.50 they are in the shops. Read the complete review |

Crayola Kids First Large Washable Crayons
by emmad5689
As usual at Christmas time I had a number of family members asking what my girle would like, both my girls love creativity and reading and so generally this is what I tell people then at least if there are duplicate items it is items that will generally be of use.
One of the presents my youngest daughter who is 2 was given ... was this packet of crayons, I generally don't like the girsl having crayons due to the fact of them getting trodden into the carpet but as they were given them I have allowed them to play with the crayons although I am like a woman possessed if one is dropped onto the floor!
These crayons are from Crayola which is a great brand in my opinion and was around when I was a little girl which is quite some time ago now. The crayons are washable which is fantastic as even though my eldest knows not to draw on herself my youngest is just really getting to grips with colouring whilst not making a mess.
The crayons came in a bright yellow cardboard box with a bit of dark green on it and the Crayola logo, there is a gap in the front of the box and you can see the crayons inside, there are, pink, red, blue, green, brown, yellow, black and purple. I think the colpurs are a decent range for a young child to have as they don't need to be getting confused with different shades of colours when they are just getting to know the basic.
The crayons are pretty chunky so they are easy for small hands to hold and they are slightly triangular rather than the usual circular crayons you get. The crayons like all crayons do break but as they are chunkier than most they are a little bit stronger so seem to snap less.
The best thing with these crayons is that they really are washable as my daughter has managed to draw on her clothing a couple of times now and they wash out at a normal temperature with no extras in the wash.
My daughter loves playing with her crayons and she seems to be able to use them better than pencils which I think is because of the chunkiness. The colours are very bright and they form colour on paper very easily without having to go over the colour over again. I have seen this pack in Asda for £2 which I think is a pretty decent price for a decent brand and them being washable so I recommend them. Read the complete review |
